General Terms and Conditions

On this page you can find all the terms and conditions that apply for the duration of a reservation and during a stay at Hotel Arnhem. House Rules

Follow the instructions of the staff.
No drugs and/or weapons allowed.
Do not engage in aggressive behavior or cause a nuisance.

  • Visit
    Visitors must always sign in and out at reception. If you are expecting visitors, you must receive them at reception. It is not permitted to bring visitors to the room between 23:00 and 08:00.

  • Anyone 18 years or older can reserve a room. Each travel party must include at least one person 18 years or older. The person who (also) books a trip for other participants is liable for all others he or she registers. For minor travelers it must be demonstrated that parents or guardians have given permission. If a traveler is not yet 18 years old, we kindly ask you to contact us by telephone.


    It is not permitted to:

  • Having an oxygen, gas, or helium tank with you. If this is of medical importance, please notify reception in advance.

  • To cause a nuisance to others, e.g. by loud music, disorderly conduct or by noise of any kind. In the event of nuisance a fine of€200to be charged.

  • To have more people in the room than the permitted number.

  • To receive guests in the room for the purpose of commercial sexual activities.

  • To use our parking lot as a carpooling area. 

    Fire safety

  • In the rooms and public spaces you maynotSmoking is not permitted. It is also not allowed to burn candles, tealights and/or incense in the room. On a first violation of these regulations a warning will be issued and a fine of€200A second offense will result in removal from the hotel.

  • If cannabis and/or nitrous oxide is used in the rooms, public areas, or on the balcony, a fine of €200 will be imposed and immediate removal from the hotel will follow.

  • Covering the smoke detectors in the rooms is punishable by a fine of€200for each violation and immediate removal from the hotel.

    Check-out time

  • The check-out time is 12:00. If you would like to stay in the room longer, this is possible subject to availability for a fee starting from€50Per room. This must be paid at check-in. The latest check-out time that applies is 5:00 PM.

If you violate the above regulations, you will be placed on our blacklist. This means you will no longer be welcome at a Van der Valk hotel.

ROOMS
Individual room reservations For reservations up to and including 7 rooms
If cancelled up to 24 hours before the arrival date (3:00 PM), no charges will be applied (except for the Zalig Christmas Package and the Four-Day Package). If you cancel within these 24 hours, 100% of the accommodation price will be charged. The same applies to no-shows.

For reservations of 8 rooms or more under €1,000.

  • Free cancellation up to 6 weeks before the start date.

  • Up to 4 weeks before the start date: 60% of the reservation value

  • Up to 2 weeks before the start date: 75% of the reservation value

  • Up to 1 week before the start date                85% of the reservation value

  • Within 1 week prior to the start date: 100% of the reservation value

  • No-shows 100% of the reservation value

    For reservations of 8 rooms or more: €1,000 to €5,000

  • Can be cancelled free of charge up to 8 weeks before the start date.

  • Up to 6 weeks before the start date: 40% of the reservation value.

  • Up to 4 weeks before the start date — 60% of the reservation value

  • Up to 2 weeks before the start date 75% of the reservation value

  • Up to 1 week before the start date 85% of the reservation value

  • Within 1 week before the start date: 100% of the reservation value

  • No-shows 100% of the reservation value

    For reservations of 8 rooms or more over €5,000.

  • Free cancellation up to 12 weeks before the start date.

  • Up to 8 weeks before the start date: 25% of the reservation value

  • Up to 6 weeks before the start date — 40% of the reservation value

  • Until 4 weeks before the start date: 60% of the reservation value.

  • Up to 2 weeks before the start date: 75% of the reservation value

  • Up to 1 week before the start date: 85% of the reservation value

  • Within 1 week before the start date: 100% of the reservation value

  • No-shows 100% of the reservation value

    Halls

  • For reservations under €1,000.

  • Can be cancelled free of charge up to 6 weeks before the start date.

  • Up to 4 weeks before the start date: 60% of the booking value

  • Up to 2 weeks before the start date: 75% of the reservation value

  • Up to 1 week before the start date: 85% of the reservation value

  • Within 1 week prior to the start date: 100% of the reservation value

    For reservations from €1,000 to €5,000.

    Changes to the number of guests (meeting and F&B arrangements)

  • Up to 4 weeks before the start date: a maximum 50% reduction of the original number of guests is possible.

  • Up to 2 weeks before the start date — a maximum 25% reduction of the original number of guests is possible

  • Up to 1 week before the start date: a maximum 10% reduction of the original number of guests is possible.

  • Increase in number of guests Possible subject to availability

Smoking policy

Van der Valk Hotel Arnhem is completely smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed in hotel rooms or in public areas such as the lobby, restaurant and bar. If guests violate this rule, we will have to charge a fee.

Next to our main entrance, we have a separate smoking area.

Pet regulations

Pets are warmly welcome at Van der Valk Hotel Arnhem (provided they are leashed and under control) in the public areas. In the Comfort rooms only dogs are allowed (surcharge €15.00 per dog per night). We allow a maximum of two dogs per room.You are allowed to bring your dog.in a crateLeave the dog in the room only when it is not barking or whining. In the restaurant, the dog must remain under the table.

At the Mariëndaal estate (114 ha) dogs are allowed off-leash almost everywhere. This beautiful off-leash area lies between Arnhem and Oosterbeek, just 6 kilometers from Hotel Arnhem. The area consists of wooded hills alternating with expansive grasslands and arable fields. The Tafellaan, at 75 meters above sea level (NAP), is the highest point. From this point you have a magnificent view over the estate and the Betuwe.

Parking is available at Mariëndaal 8 (near the swimming pond) or on Schelmseweg by house numbers 80–86 (near the highest point). Note: both addresses are in Oosterbeek, not Arnhem.

Found Items Policy

Items found in the hotel's public areas or in guest rooms, or handed in at our reception, are handled as described in the Uniform Terms and Conditions for the Hospitality Industry:

16.1 - Lost or left-behind items in the building and its premises of the hospitality establishment that are found by a guest must be handed in to the establishment by that guest without undue delay.

16.2 - For items whose rightful owner has not contacted the hospitality business within one year after they were handed in, the hospitality business acquires ownership.

16.3 - If the hospitality establishment sends items left behind by the guest to the guest, it does so entirely at the guest's expense and risk. The establishment is never obliged to send them.

Check-in

We request that you and/or your guest(s) present valid identification upon check-in. All hotel guests must be 18 years of age or older at the time of check-in. Children under the age of 18 must stay under parental supervision.

Guarantee

We will hold your reservation until 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. If you arrive later than 6:00 p.m., please contact the hotel reception.

Food & Drink

Restaurant ‘De Veluwe’ is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For snacks and drinks, visit our cozy Bar Brasserie ‘West-End’. More information about opening hours, menus, and making a reservation can be found here.

Parking

As a hotel guest, you can park for free at the hotel. Charging points for your electric car are also available.

Corporate booking

Due to scheduled technical maintenance, the Van der Valk Corporate Tool is temporarily unavailable for Hotel Arnhem. Of course, it is still possible to make or change a business reservation.
