De Hoge Veluwe National Park is also within easy reach by car or bicycle.

Historic Arnhem

Arnhem is known not only for its medieval sights, but especially for the infamous Battle of Arnhem Bridge during World War II. Heavy bombardments, both by Allied forces and the German army hit the city hard. Still every year many people from all over the world come to commemorate this battle.

Nature around Arnhem

From Arnhem you can make wonderful walks and bike rides through National Park De Hoge Veluwe. In this Veluwe region you will see various special animals, such as the noble deer, the mouflon and bird species unique to the Netherlands. Cultural Arnhem

Arnhem has several first class museums with an international appearance. The Kröller-Möller Museum presents art from the 19th and 20th centuries, including works by Vincent van Gogh. The Open Air Museum offers a historical look at Dutch life through the centuries. And to learn about the Battle of Arnhem Bridge, the Airborne Museum "Hartenstein" is an absolute must.
